DefenceX is an Australian SME Head Quatered in Brisbane, Australia. It was established in 2022 to provide innovative solutions into the Land Domain for deployment onto protected mobility vehicles, soldiers and robitic/autonomous platforms. As of 2024, the company's Managing Director is Ross Newman..[1]
In 2023 DefenceX was one of ten Queensland based companies selected to participate in Launch AI an accellerator program run by Queensland AI Hub for startups focused on products and services enabled by Artificial Intelligence[2]
Company specialises in software conforming to military defence[3] standards and promotes open architecture approach to systems design.
Land Systems[edit]
Products include VivoeX a lightweight Generic Vehicle Architecture including a Human Machine interface as described in DEF STAN 23-009 for deployment on Intel and ARM processors.
MediaX a low latency video streaming library for Linux focused on strict compliance to Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) and Generic Soldier Architecture (GSA) as descrived in DEF STAN 00-082.
Source code is made public on Github[4][5] including all security and vunrability scans for complete transparancy. Licencing is free for academic and research purposes using the Creative Commons NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
AI enabled situational awareness[edit]
In 2024 DefenceX was working on next generation products including ApexGardian[6] to enable greater Situational Awareness (SA) at the network edge whilest always keeping the human in the loop.
