Draft:Dev Lemons

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Devon Schmalz (born March 12, 1999), known professionally as Dev Lemons, is an American musical artist and content creator. She has released various singles and EPs under both her aforementioned name, her previous pseudonym Miss iPad, and the band QUEEF JERKY with her boyfriend Nicholas Green. Her music is self-described as "weird pop": her semi-experimental vocals and production over pop beats.[1] Devon cites Cyber Bully Mom Club and Joji as influences, especially because of their D.I.Y. music style.[2]

Career[edit]

Devon began to pursue music in high school, but after experiences with bullying, she quit music for a while. She picked it back up in college under the name Miss iPad, but due to her lack of experience or training, it failed to gain major traction. Devon began to use TikTok in 2019 and began a podcast called SongPsych that discusses music theory and popular music releases.[3] During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Devon turned to music again, this time looking to third-party producers to finish her songs instead of mastering and producing them herself.[4]
