Doitnowman is the second album of Pilote, released in 2001. It was recorded in Brighton and released with Certificate 18 records. For the making of Doitnowman, Cullen had access to "more powerful computers".[1] The album, though still not achieving widespread success, did enjoy critical acclaim from music magazines such as Brainwashed, whose writer Rob Devlin described it as "All in the interest of invoking a very pure, raw emotional response. And that, Cullen succeeds at beyond all doubt."[2] The album also received a review in NME, roughly four years after its release.[3]

The vinyl release of Doitnowman came with a bonus 10" featuring Bonobo's mix of "Turtle" from Pilote's previous album, Antenna, and Sirconical's remix of "Microphones", also from Antenna.

The American release CD, released with Domino Records, featured the track "Junior", track 3 on Pilote's 1999 EP "No Truck", as track 11.

The Cover[edit]

The cover is describes a flat art style of Stuart Cullen (AKA Pilote) with a bunch of clones of him making various poses in the middle of a parking lot as birds fly by in the clear blue sky. Below is a frog next to a monkey looking straight at the frog.

DoItNowMan Review by Kingsley Marshall[edit]

"Brighton's Stuart Cullen forges his second album of lo-fi sounds on Paul Arnold's ever-widescreen imprint. As with his preceding material for the label, gentle keys provide the momentum to propel dysfunctional breaks through paper-thin tidal synths with admirable grace. Although suffering from an occasional aimlessness, on the whole quality is good, with tortured orchestration often wading in to pull a track back from obscurity."[4]
