The Duke Pond is a 5.5-acre lake^[1]^[2] located on the main campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Completed in 2015 as a project to reclaim storm water,^[1]^[2] the pond is accessible to the public through surrounding walking trails. At maximum capacity, the pond can hold over 31.8 million gallons, equal to almost 48 Olympic-sized swimming pools.^[1] It currently supplies around 100 million gallons of non-potable water per year.^[1]^[3]
