Ezekiel Francis Dillon (November 19,1842- July 15,1902) was an American postal worker and land surveyor who was known for founding the town of Dillon, Texas, in Hopkins County, and a long-time in the business of the postal service".

Early Life and Education

Dillon Was Born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on November 19,1842 but moved to Mexia, Texas at an early age to attend compulsory schooling.

Career

at age 22 after graduating Mexia community college, Dillon became interested in being involved with the post, where he was hired to deliver the mail for the town, and continued in that position until age 58 when he than was hired to become a land surveyor, one summer on the job, Dillon was called to survey land in the middle of Hopkins County for the planning of a new town, upon the initial discovery, Dillon chose on naming the new town Dillon, His last name, whilst one day in 1901, Dillon found the Dillon post office, as he was in the post business for a long time.

Later Life

at age 60 years, Dillon became diagnosed with prostate cancer after he came in and complained to doctors that he had been hurting for a while, though Dillon never really had a history with prostate problems, he gradually began experiencing increasingly painful problems with his prostate in the years leading up to his death, thus causing him to resign his position as a land surveyor after nearly a century, and on July 15,1902, he died from the aliment.
