The Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ) is a learned society of ecology and was founded in 1970. The aim is to promote basic and applied research on ecology. It wants to foster cooperation and networking, publish policy statements, as well as supporting ecological education at universities.[1]

Publications[edit]

The Society publishes the international journal of Basic and Applied Ecology and 'News of the GfÖ' as well as the 'Proceedings of the GfÖ'. The last one published presentations from the annual meetings first as articles and later as abstracts.
