Ethel Osgood Mason was a ghostwriter. She helped write John Eaton's memoir Grant, Lincoln, and the freedmen : reminiscences of the Civil War with special reference to the work for the contrabands and freedmen of the Mississippi Valley.[1] She also authored a preface about Eaton, who died before publication.[2]

She was the daughter of Dr. Osgood Mason.[3]
