Gelendzhik Museum of History and Local lore (Russian: Геленджикский Историко-Краеведческий музей, romanized: Gelendzhikskiy Istoriko-Kraevedcheskiy Musey) is the first and only city scientific and methodological center in Gelendzhik.[1]

History[edit]

The museum was founded on July 18th, 1909 by Mikhail Mikhailovich Reinke, Privy Councillor and senior official of His Imperial Majesty's Own Chancellery.[2][3]

As of January 1, 2020, the museum holds 70000 items in the main collection and 16000 items in the scientific auxiliary collection. Out of these, 15,431 items have been registered in the State Catalogue of the Museum Fund of Russia.
