Ghita Benhadi (* February 15 1998) is a Moroccan tennisplayer.

Career[edit]

So far, Benhadi has primarily played on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, where she has not yet won a title.

She was Moroccan Youth Champion in 2012 and 2013 and Moroccan Champion in 2015.[1]

In 2012 she played a WTA Tour tournament for the first time, where she received a Wildcard for the Qualification of the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem. But she failed in the first round against Karolína Plíšková with 0:6 and 0:6.

In 2014 she again received a wildcard for the Qualification for the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, where she was in the lost the first round against Maria João Koehler 3:6 and 0:6. For the main draw in women's doubles, she and her compatriot Zaineb El Houari also received a wildcard. The pairing lost to Katarzyna Piter and Maryna Zanevska with 3:6 and 0:6.

In 2015 she again received a wildcard for the Qualification for the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, where she competed against [ [Marina Anatolyevna Melnikova|Marina Melnikova]] lost 0:6 and 4:6.

In 2016 she received a wildcard for both the main draw in women's singles and women's doubles together with her partner Ons Jabeur. While she had no chance in the singles against Laura Robson with 1:6 and 1:6, Benhadi and Jabeur narrowly lost in the doubles in three sets against the Dutch with 2:6, 6:2 and [5:10]. Pairing Richèl Hogenkamp and Lesley Kerkhove.

Ghita Benhadi was a member of the Moroccan Fed Cup team in 2016 and 2017. She has a record of four wins and four defeats in eight appearances, two of which were in singles and two in doubles.

College Tennis[edit]

From 2016 to 2020 she played for the Dragons women's tennis team for Drexel University.[1]

Personal[edit]

Ghita is the daughter of Mohamed and Raha Benhadi and the eldest of three siblings. She attended the Lycee Paul Valery in Meknes. In addition to tennis, she was also a member of her university's swimming team during her studies.[1]
