Goosebumps HorrorLand is a 2008 horror role-playing video game based on R.L. Stine's sub-series of the same name, and the 1994 novel One Day at HorrorLand. It was developed by Gusto Games and published by Scholastic. In the game, the player takes control of a child who is unexpectedly invited to HorrorLand and must find a way out of the park whilst participating through several minigames and defeating various Goosebumps monsters. Goosebumps HorrorLand is an official tie-in to the novella series of which the game is based.

The game was released on October 28, 2008 for the Wii, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation 2. Upon release, Goosebumps HorrorLand received favorable reviews, with praise towards the general concept, series callbacks, and minigames. It has often been compared to another tie-in video game, Escape from HorroLand (1996), which is also based on One Day at HorrorLand.

Plot[edit]

The player (or protagonist) unexpectedly receives a ticket to the "grand opening" of HorrorLand, alongside their best friend Nate. Upon arriving, they are granted permission to participate in carnival rides and activities (all based from original Goosebumps books) but come to realize the park is not at all what it seems. When Nate vanishes from the player, they discover that they are trapped in the park and attempt to find a way out. Along the way, the player discovers that a monster known as "The Great Gargantua" has escaped and is somewhere in the park. They eventually meet a young girl named Gigi (or G.G. in other languages) who claims she is trapped in the park and is being chased by the Horrors. When reuniting with Nate, the kids come up with a plan to find all the pieces of their ticket — which had previously been torn apart by a Horror guard — and escape the park. Gigi eventually disappears, with the protagonist later obtaining a mask that transforms them into a Horror, and makes their way to the final piece of the ticket. The player is taunted by Horrifico who discovers their true identity, takes of their mask, and they their escape. After riding Certain Death in Terror Tombs, the player and Nate rescue Gigi on the ride and crash outside the park, where Gigi reveals her true form as "The Great Gargantua" and promises to make the world “her” own personal HorrorLand.
