Grace Hampton (born October 23, 1937) is an African American professor Emerita of art, art education, and African Studies at Penn State University.[1]

Career[edit]

Hampton has taught art, art education, and integrative arts courses at Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, California State University at Sacramento, The University of Oregon in Eugene, Jackson State University in Mississippi, and Pennsylvania State University at University Park.

She joined Penn State in 1985. As a university administrator she served as Director of the School of Visual Arts, Executive Assistant to the Provost for the Development of the Arts, Head of African and African American Studies, and the first African American female Vice Provost.[2]
