Grace Ng is a trombonist, who was born on February 20, 2005.[1]
She was adopted from China and came to the United States at a young age.
Grace was brought up in New Jersey after being brought to the US.
Graces’ performances are noted for their technical proficiency and emotional depth.[2][3]
Background and Education[edit]
Grace began her musical journey at a young age, beginning with piano lessons before switching
to trombone at the age of ten. As a soloist, she has performed in numerous venues and with
esteemed ensembles such as Imperial Brass. Grace has studied at prestigious institutions
including Aspen Music Festival and School, Boyer College of Music, The Juilliard School, and
Juilliard School Music Advancement Program.[2][3][4][5][1]

Grace Ng has performed with notable ensembles such as Imperial Brass, The Juilliard School Precollege Orchestra, Opera Italiano and the Aspen Festival Orchestra, among others. Grace is also a proponent of contemporary music, collaborating with young, upcoming composers to premiere new solo trombone works. Her performances are noted for their technical proficiency and emotional depth.[2][3][5][6]

Throughout her career, Grace has received several scholarships and grants, including the Aspen Music Festival Scholarship, Mark Freeh Scholarship, Stagetime Career Grant, Crawford Green Award, and Boyer Artist Talent Award.[1][2][5][6][7]
Influences and Mentorship[edit]
It is noted that Grace credits much of her development as a musician to her influential teachers and mentors, such as Demian Austin, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, Matthew Vaughn, Weston Sprott, and Burt Mason. Additionally, her participation in the International Women's Brass Conference (I.W.B.C.) mentorship program under french horn player Amanda Collins in 2024 has been a pivotal aspect of her career growth.
