Guzzen E Galen (stylized in all caps) is the Swedish artist Bruno Klintman's debut single. The track was first released on SoundCloud on the 5th of May 2022 and it features the swedish rap artists D.A.V.I.D. and nayan.
Composition and recording[edit]
The song is a pop-rap song in c-sharp minor with a recognisable guitar riff being the main cornerstone of the song. It opens with an intro consisting of the riff. Then the drums kick in and the first chorus takes place. Following this there is a short bridge leading us once again back to the chorus, this time with three-part harmony in the vocals. Then there is Bruno rapping his verse. Famous bars from this verse include e.g. "hon är lattjo, snygg, strålande vacker / något som man inte kan beskriva på papper.". Before the final chorus takes place there is once again a bridge, but this time with different lyrics. The bridge ends with some quick rapping leading us into the final chorus. The song ends with an outro consisting of nayan delivering some ad lib vocal runs.
The track was recorded in Bruno Klintman's own personal studio in central Lund. It was recorded with Garageband and a condenser microphone[3]. Notable digital techniques include the excessive use of Auto-Tune applied on the vocals throughout the song.
Cultural impact of the song[edit]
The song become during 2022 and 2023 a cultural phenomenon and local hit amongst teenagers and upper secondary school students in Lund, Sweden. The artist, Bruno Klintman, was at the time also a student at Lars-Erik Larsson-gymnasiet in Lund. Through this song Bruno Klintman became a notable celebrity and icon at Lars-Erik Larsson-gymnasiet and some parts of Spyken[4]. The popularity of the song peaked during the first half of 2023.
Following the success of the song the trio of Bruno, Nayan and David decided to release a sequel to their hit; GUZZEN E GALEN (Pt.2). This was also the debut single for their new band, NOLIMA[5], consisting of the three.
The song was also used as soundtrack in the short film "Jakten på Bossman - Utsparksfilmen 2023"[6].
Notable live performances of the song[edit]
On 5th of June 2023 the local jazz band Jazz Police gave a unique live performance of the song at a small venue in Linero, Lund, featuring the artist himself on vocals. The perfomance was given as an encore following a set the band had played at the venue. Albeit this one-time performance was widely considered a great success amongst the audience[7], it was the source of an inner conflict amid the members of Jazz Police. Whilst the content of this dispute is quite unclear it is, according to some historians[3], the cause of the breakup of Jazz Police.
There has not since this been any official live performances of the song.[3]
