Hajera Mahtab (born: 22 September 1941) A Bangladeshi professor and hormone specialist.[1][2][citation needed] She is a member of the trustee board of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences.[3] She also was the director of Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition.[4] On 1998 the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences honored her fellowship.[2]

Mahtab was born in Kolkata during the undivided Bengal on 22 September of 1941.[1]
Education[edit]
Mahtab passed the Senior Cambridge exam with first class in 1956. 1958 she passed her secondary exam under University of Dhaka and 1964 she accomplished her honors from University of Liverpool. Later in 1965 she got her Diploma on Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, then on 1970 she got FCPS on Medicine from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. She achieved her FRCP from Royal College of Physicians of Edinburg of UK.[2][1][citation needed]
Career[edit]
During her career Mahtab had been an associate professor of National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital and from 1990 to 1998 she was a professor of medicine in Sir Salimullah Medical College.[2] She retired from the government job of a Professor of Mymensingh Medical College on 21 September of 1998.[1][2]
