Han Hu (Chinese: 胡瀚) is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas.[1] His research centers on the thermal management of power electronics and machine learning for mechanical engineering problems.

Education and career[edit]

Hu received a B.S. degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 2016. His Ph.D. study centered on multiscale modeling of two-phase heat transfer and was supervised by Ying Sun. Hu joined Purdue University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2016 and studied boiling and thin film evaporation under the supervision of Suresh Garimella and Justin Weibel. [2] In Aug 2019, Hu joined the University of Arkansas as an Assistant Professor and joined the University of Arkansas Power Group directed by Alan Mantooth in 2023. [3] His research focuses on electronics cooling, acoustic sensing, and supercomputing for training AI models.[4]
