Inspired by Neyyatinkara district movement in Kerala, in the year 2024 three friends from Haripad named Anoop Kadayadi, Arjun Bhavani and Abhiranj thought about why there is no a seperate taluk for Haripad area after this much development in Haripad as a town. There is also a taluk sentiment in the people of Kayamkulam area for not having a taluk in the name of Kayamkulam after being a big town in Alappuzha while neighbouring towns like Mavelikkara and Chengannur have taluks in their name. Also Haripad people are united under the Velayuda Swami needed a taluk whose primary deity should be Velayudan. These situations motivated them for starting a movement for a taluk in the name of Haripad.

In July 2024, they started a Haripad Taluk Formation Committee (Malayalam: ഹരിപ്പാട് താലൂക്ക് രൂപീകരണ സമിതി) and they are now currently studying the feasibility and opinions of people in Haripad.
