  • Comment: The level of WP:REFBOMBING is frankly ridiculous, we don't need to see multiple sources for any but the most contentious claims. And most of the sources seem to be about Dream (which might help to make the business notable, but not him), and most of the remainder about his IAMAI appointment (which is just routine reporting and doesn't contribute towards notability). Harsh Jain is an Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Dream Sports, a sports technology company that owns brands such as Dream11, FanCode, Dream Capital, DreamSetGo, Dream Game Studios and Dream Foundation.[1][2][3] He is currently serving as the chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India.[4][5][6][7] He is also the President of Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports, governing body for fantasy sports in India.[8]

Early life and education[edit]

Jain was born in Mumbai to Anand Jain, a leading businessman and Chairman of Jai Corp Limited; and Sushama Jain, a wildlife artist.[9][10] He completed his schooling from Sevenoaks School. He later pursued a degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.[11][12][13]

Dream Sports and Dream11[edit]

In June 2008, Jain co-founded Dream11 with Bhavit Seth.[14][15][16] Dream11 provides a fantasy gaming platform for multiple sports such as fantasy cricket, football, basketball, kabaddi, hockey, volleyball, handball and baseball.[17][18][19][20]

In April 2019, Dream11 became the first sports technology unicorn in India.[21][22][23][24]

In November 2021, Dream Sports, parent company of Dream11 became $8 billion company.[25][26][27][28]

In October 2023, Dream11 reached a milestone of 200 million users which accounts to 90% of Indian fantasy sports gaming market.[29]

Dream11 has also partnered with prominent sports leagues and their governing bodies worldwide, including the Caribbean Premier League, Indian Super League, NBA, International Cricket Council (ICC), Pro Kabaddi League, International Hockey Federation (FIH), WBBL, BBL, Super Smash, Indian Premier League, and the Indian National Cricket Team.[30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37]

Red Digital[edit]

In July 2010, Jain also co-founded Red Digital, a social media agency which was acquired by GoZoop in July 2013.[38][28]

Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports[edit]

In September 2017, Jain became the President of Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports, governing body for fantasy sports in India.[8][39]

Internet and Mobile Association of India[edit]

In May 2023, Jain was appointed as the Chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).[40][41] He succeeded Sanjay Gupta, Vice President and Country Manager at Google, India.[42]

Awards and recognition[edit]

In August 2019, Jain was featured in The Economic Times 40 under Forty list of India's top business leaders.[43]

In December 2019, Jain was awarded Newsmaker of the Year by The Indian Express.[44][45]

In June 2021, Jain was also featured in Fortune India 40 under 40 list.[46]

In April 2022, Jain received the Young Entrepreneur Award by All India Management Association (AIMA) in 12th edition of the AIMA Managing India Award.[47]

Jain is also the recipient of the IMPACT Person of the Year (IPOY) 2022 Award, instituted by the exchange4media Group to recognise excellence in the Advertising, Media and Marketing domain. He has been awarded this title for building India’s largest sports technology company.[48][49]

Personal life[edit]

Jain is married to Rachana Jain, a dentist. They have two sons.[50]

Controversies[edit]

In September 2023, Harsh Jain and Dream11 made headlines as the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI) sent GST evasion notices totalling ₹28,000 crore.[51][52] Dream11’s parent company, Dream Sports, filed a writ petition in Bombay High Court, challenging the show cause notice issued by tax authorities for alleged goods and services tax (GST) evasion.[53][54][55]
