Haxhi Shabani (born June 9, 1963) is an Albanian writer, researcher, journalist, film-producer, as well as a PhD in Albanian Language and Bilingualism studies from Ulqin, Montengro.[1]
Education[edit]
Haxhi finished the primary and secondary school in Ulqin, Montenegro. He continued his university studies in the University of Prishtina majoring in Albanian language and literature. He continued his graduate studies in the same university and successfully completed a Masters degree, as well as a PhD in Albanian Language and Bilingualism in Faculty of Philology in University of Pristina .[2] In his doctoral studies named "Albanian bilingualism in Montenegro", Haxhi focused on the bilingual issues of the Albanian population in Montenegro.[3]
Career[edit]
Haxhi Shabani currently lives in Ulqin, Montenegro. He works as a journalist and editor in the Radio and Television of Montenegro in the Albanian language program. He is also a lecturer in the University of Montenegro Autonomous study program for teacher training in Albanian language.[4]
His activity started in the 1990s, working and publishing for different newspapers and magazines in Kosovo, such as Koha Ditore, Zeri, Lajmi, Dita, Ekskluzive,Rilindja, Fati, etc.
The main activity of Shabani is in Albanian Language and Billinguliasm, Poetry, Publicism, as well as wrote multiple school books in the literature subject for the Albanian students in Montenegro.[5] [6]
He has also published multiple scientific articles such as: "The Position and Status of Languages in Montenegro with a Special Focus on the Albanian Language,"[7] and "Ruralism of the Albanian Language in Montenegro." [8]
During his career in TV, he has produced multiple documentary films, including some films produced by RTCG , as well as some independent productions. His most well-known documentary films are:
- Përkthyesi në tërësi i Bibles në Shqip ( The complete translator of the Bible in Albanian language)
- Ndërmjet (2016 Between) - a documentary film about the Albanians in Montenegro[9] [10]
- Ana e Malit shtëpia e përbashkët ( 2020 - Ana e Malit - our shared home) - a documentary film for Ana e Malit[11]
- Në teh të erës (2023 - On the blade of the wind) - a biography film about the well-known Albanian poet Basri Çapriqi[12]
- Kraja sa afër aq larg ( 2023 - Kraja as close as far) - a documentary film for Kraja
