Housing and Urban Development Corporation[1][2], abbreviated HUDC, is a public-sector corporation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, that's the merger between the Housing Corporation and the Urban Development Department and operates within the Housing sector of the kingdom. HUDC has had many successful housing projects over the years, most notably the Abu-Nseir housing project, that helped facilitate urban growth in Jordan and benefited thousands of citizens pursuing residential housing[3]. HUDC's role in the housing sector of Jordan has been significant, and it actively participates in forums, conferences and campaigns relating to housing and urbanization, regionally and internationally.[4][5]As a governmental entity, HUDC has financial and administrative independence and is overseen by a board of directors that has the minister of Public Works & Housing as its chairman. The enterprise employs personnel of different academic and professional backgrounds, including engineers, accountants and IT specialists, amongst others, and has had a succession of director generals at the top of its management hierarchy, last of which, Eng. Jomana Attyat, was appointed in 2019 and still holds the position as of June, 2024.
In 2023, HUDC received 3rd place in the first category "Excellence Award for Electronic and Smart Transformation" of the 14th Arab Towns Organization Award in Doha[6][7]. It Also received 2nd place in the second category of the same award, titled "Creative City Award".
