Draft:Indian Accelerationism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Indic/Accelerationism, also known as In/acc or šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc is a movement started by a group of people who collectively believe in the potential of Indian capabilities to build and are collectively working on the same.

People involved in šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc are usually bullish on the entire manufacturing industry including the already established software industry in India as well as actively trying to build the hardware manufacturing industry from the ground. This collective effort is heavily inspired by China's manufacturing growth story.

People supporting šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc philosophy counters any stances supporting "tech doomers" or any group of people who are given "degrowth".

The concept of šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc has originally been taken from e/acc, also known as "Effective accelerationism" and heavily supports fundamental ideas but with more focus on Indian builders, India's policies, Indian consumers, and India's growth.

History[edit]

šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc term was first coined by Shashank Dixit on X (formerly Twitter), more famously known as @protosphinx or Sphinx. His views about manufacturing in India are optimistic and he is actively working to get more people involved in actual "building hardware" stuff.

He has also written the original "The Indic Accelerationism Manifesto" which describes the fundamental goals of šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc as well as the path towards achieving same.

Mission[edit]

The mission of šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc is pretty clearly written in Manifesto by Shashank Dixit where šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc should try to achieve 3 matrices as soon and as holistically, inclusively, sustainably as possible, which are supposed to replace the current GDP, which in many terms is not sufficient enough to specify much of relevant information.

These 3 metrics are:

- GDP Growth / Accelerate

- Gini's Coefficient / Include

- Doughnut Metrics / Sustain

Fields to cover[edit]

šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc is more focused on the following areas:

1. Acceleration in governance

2. Acceleration in judiciary with AI

3. Acceleration in skill development

4. Acceleration in infra development

5. Acceleration in health care

Where it is expected for technology to solve issues in already existing fields by providing active assistance based on specific contexts or scenarios, developing smart tools for building and maintenance, reducing friction in existing processes, and making things as easy for people as possible to contribute to growth while building on technology.

Pillars of šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc:[edit]

1. Research Mediation (ĀnvÄ«kį¹£ikÄ«)[edit]

"Research Mediation (ĀnvÄ«kį¹£ikÄ«)" in the context of Indic/Accelerationism refers to a critical and strategic approach towards bridging the gap between academic research, technological innovation, and their practical application in accelerating India's socio-economic development. In this context, ĀnvÄ«kį¹£ikÄ«, a Sanskrit term traditionally associated with philosophical inquiry and understanding, is repurposed to denote the process of mediating or translating research findings into actionable policies and technologies that can effectively contribute to India's growth.

2. Design Proposals (Kalpanā)[edit]

In the context of Indic/Accelerationism, "Design Proposals (Kalpanā)" refers to the imaginative and innovative conceptualization of technological and systemic solutions, tailored to address India's unique socio-economic challenges. The term 'Kalpanā', rooted in Sanskrit for imagination or visualization, embodies the initiative's focus on creative, forward-thinking designs that intertwine state-of-the-art technologies with India's rich cultural and social fabric. These proposals aim to foster inclusive, sustainable, and scalable development across various sectors such as governance, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, aligning technological innovation with socio-cultural relevance to support India's ambitious leapfrogging goals.

3. Policy Advocacy (Nītivāda)[edit]

In the context of Indic/Accelerationism, "Policy Advocacy (NÄ«tivāda)" entails the persuasive promotion and support of policies aimed at advancing India's socio-economic development through practical and innovative solutions. Deriving its name from the Sanskrit term for the art of policy discussion, NÄ«tivāda focuses on engaging with government, industry, and community stakeholders to shape public policies that are sustainable, inclusive, and culturally resonant. This approach emphasizes practical solutions for critical sectors like education, healthcare, and governance, advocating for policies that prioritize direct and tangible benefits to society, enhancing Indiaā€™s growth in a manner that is both progressive and rooted in its rich heritage.

4. Change Management (Yojanā)[edit]

In Indic/Accelerationism, "Change Management (Yojanā)" signifies the methodical and adaptive process of guiding India through significant transitions in its socio-economic landscape. Yojanā, a Sanskrit term for planning, encapsulates the essence of this approach ā€“ meticulous preparation and execution of strategies that facilitate smooth adaptation to change. Unlike the direct implementation of new technologies or policies, Yojanā focuses on the human and cultural aspects of transformation. It addresses the challenges of altering longstanding practices, shifting mindsets, and integrating new methodologies within India's diverse societal fabric. This aspect of Indic/Accelerationism is crucial for ensuring that the nation's leap towards modernization and development is not only technologically sound but also socially cohesive and culturally sensitive.

5. Build & Execution (Nirmāį¹‡a)[edit]

In the realm of Indic/Accelerationism, "Build & Execution (Nirmāį¹‡a)" refers to the concrete realization and practical implementation of projects and initiatives designed to propel India's socio-economic advancement. The term 'Nirmāį¹‡a', derived from Sanskrit, connotes construction or creation, highlighting the transition from theoretical design and planning to actual development and operationalization. This phase is characterized by the tangible creation of infrastructure, the deployment of innovative systems, and the execution of strategies across various sectors like education, healthcare, and urban planning. It involves coordinating resources, managing projects, and overseeing the direct application of solutions to ensure they effectively meet their objectives. In this context, Nirmāį¹‡a is not just about the physical construction of facilities or infrastructure, but also about establishing systems and processes that are sustainable, efficient, and in harmony with Indiaā€™s diverse cultural and environmental landscape. This stage is crucial in turning the vision of Indic/Accelerationism into a reality, making a measurable impact on the ground.

6. Deployment & Operations (Vyavahāra)[edit]

In Indic/Accelerationism, "Deployment & Operations (Vyavahāra)" focuses on the active implementation and ongoing management of projects. The term 'Vyavahāra', from Sanskrit, means practical application. It involves rolling out new systems across sectors like governance and healthcare, ensuring seamless integration and continuous improvement to meet India's evolving socio-economic needs. This stage is crucial for actualizing Indic/Accelerationism's transformative goals practically and effectively.

7. Marketing & Consultation (Saį¹ƒvāda)[edit]

In the context of Indic/Accelerationism, "Marketing & Consultation (Saį¹ƒvāda)" refers to the strategic communication and advisory process that aims to promote and guide the implementation of innovative socio-economic initiatives in India. Derived from the Sanskrit term for dialogue or conversation, Saį¹ƒvāda emphasizes the importance of effective communication and collaborative consultation. This involves articulating the vision and benefits of Indic/Accelerationism initiatives to various stakeholders, including the public, government bodies, and private sector entities, and providing expert advice on how these can be integrated into the existing socio-economic framework. The focus here is not just on traditional marketing but on fostering a two-way dialogue that facilitates understanding, buy-in, and collaborative effort toward the successful realization of India's transformation goals.

Conclusion[edit]

šŸ‡®šŸ‡³/acc treats technology as primary mechanism of solving India's problems while keeping sustainability in mind and disregarding any and all "doomer" view and serving Indian interest as primary.
