InterAct Stroke Support is a charity in Great Britain.[1] Its aim is to support the rehabilitaion of stroke survivors through a live interactive reading service.

History

The charity was formed in 2000 by the theatre director Caroline Smith. It began work in a number of London hospitals, and now works across the UK.

Those hospitals now include - The Charing Cross Hospital The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital Clayponds Hospital, Ealing, London Edgware Community Hospital, London THe Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Homerton University Hospital King's College Hospital Moseley Hall Hospital, Birmingham and 12 others

Research Several studies have been carried out pointing to the benefits of the service. THe Department of Public Health Sciences at King's College London conducted an evaluation of the service carried out by Professpt Charles Wolfe with Christopher McKevitt and Maria Higgins [2]
