  • Comment: We almost never have articles for authors who have written only a single book - it's very unusual for an author to be notable at this stage. You can edit and resubmit if you like, but my advice would be to hold onto this until the second book comes out and try again with the sources that will (hopefully) arise from its publication. asilvering (talk) 23:20, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

Isabella Renee (born May 6, 1998) is an American author of new adult fiction romance novels. She is best known for their[a] debut novel He & I, a story about a young queer man in the early 2000's, and their upcoming book I Vote You, Mr. Mayor.[1][2]

Personal life[edit]

Isabella Renee was born on May 6, 1998 in Dover, Ohio, but grew up in Bass Lake, California. They are attending Arizona State University for a history degree.[2][3] While actively pursing a career in writing, Renee also works a full-time customer service role.[1]

Renee is queer, demi-sexual, and uses she/they pronouns.[4][1] Renee has stated that she will only write homonormative romances because she wants others to feel seen, and wishes to enjoy a part of herself that she felt she wasn't allowed to as a young adult. She also has expressed various mental health issues within their writing, as well as different forms of abuse and homophobia, and has said she turned to writing as a coping mechanism to channel their feelings after experiencing those problems.[1]

Career[edit]

Renee is currently published by Olympia Publishers.[2]

In 2022, Renee's first book, He & I, was published.[5] The romance novel follows the life of Frederick Burke and his husband Johnathon in the early 2000's.[5] The novel was loosely based on real life stories from a close friend of Renee. She has described the novel as a tragedy, with explicit representations of homophobia.[2]

The novel has been published in the United States and internationally.[6]

Lock Down Love[edit]

In 2021, Renee was cast in the film Lock Down Love, which follows a plus-sized woman who is left by her significant other for her weight.
