IslamQA.org is a website that compiles fatwas from websites of various Sunni "scholars and Islamic educational institutions" around the world, describing itself as a "repository of Islamic answers". As of February 2024 it includes over 93,950 questions on Islamic subjects and answers from Islamic scholars from the four Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence (madhhabs) at fifteen different fatwa sites,^[2] overwhelmingly (87,000 answers) from the Hanafi school of fiqh point of view, also from Shafi’i fiqh (5,700 answers) as well as some (fewer than 300 apiece) from Maliki and Hanbali fiqh.^[1] The sites "About" page does not include any history of the site, nor the names of any governing/administrating members and is simply signed "IslamQA Admin". The majority of the fatwas on the Islamqa.org website are from Hanafi Deobandi affiliated websites and scholars. Since 2012, the site has preserved around 7,400 answers from various sites which are no longer functional.^[1]

The site compiles and archives but does not itself produce fatwas. It provides contact information to websites with scholars that do.^[3] The website is not affiliated with any of the sites indexed. However, over the years, they have been in contact with many notable scholars, including Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam Al Kawthari from the UK, Mufti Faisal bin Abdul Hameed al-Mahmudi from Canada, Sheikh Jamir Dean Meah from Jordan, among others.^[1]
