Istanbul 2036 (Turkish: İstanbul 2036) is a bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics by the city of Istanbul and the Turkish Olympic Committee.

The event will mark the 20th anniversary of Turkey's failed coup if the city to be selected as the host.

Previous bids

Istanbul bid for the 2000 Summer Olympics and lost to Sydney. They bid for the 2008 Olympics and lost in the second and final round of voting, while Beijing went on to defeat Toronto. Istanbul's most recent bid was for the 2020 Olympics, which they lost to Tokyo in the final round of voting.
