J. C. Cervantes, is an American author of children's and young adult literature.

Life

Cervantes grew up in Southern California. [1]

In 2010, Cervantes published her first children's book, Tortilla Sun. In 2018, her second book, The Storm Runner, was published by Rick Riordan Presents. It is the prelude to a trilogy that combines fantasy with the mythology of the Maya and Aztecs. The series has been published in German translation since 2020 under the title Zane vs. the Gods.

Cervantes is currently writing a spin-off series called Shadow Bruja, the first volume, The Lords of Night, was released in 2022. In the same year, Cervantes' first book for young people, Flirting with Fate, and Fractured Path, Cervantes' contribution to the four-part book series The Mirror, the second and third volumes of which were written by Julie C. Dao and Dhonielle Clayton, were published.

She lives with her family in New Mexico.[2]
