Draft:James Greenblatt

  • Comment: This one is a tricky case. While a lot of information is available about Greenblatt, almost all of it seems to be affiliated with him in one way or another. His books are easy to find, but I haven't seen any high-quality reviews of them. Interviews are fine as sources. However, they do not on their own show that Greenblatt should be included on Wikipedia. What we need instead is secondary coverage about him and his career that is completely independent of him. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need more guidance. WP:GNG and WP:AUTHOR make for good reading. Modussiccandi (talk) 09:19, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

James M. Greenblatt is an American psychiatrist.[1][2], author[3][4], and speaker[5] who is known for his work in the field of integrative and functional medicine[6] for mental health. He is the founder of Psychiatry Redefined[7], an educational platform dedicated to the personalized, evidence-based treatment of mental health and the Chief Medical Officer & Vice President, Medical Services at Walden Behavioral Care[8]. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine[2] and Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine[9].

Education[edit]

Greenblatt earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Bates College[10] and his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine[11]. He did a pediatric internship at Sinai Hospital[11] before completing his residency training in psychiatry at George Washington University Medical Center[11]. He later went on to complete a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine[11].

Career[edit]

Greenblatt has authored several books including Answers to Anorexia[12] and Finally Focused: The Breakthrough Natural Treatment Plan for ADHD[13]. He has been featured in articles for popular media outlets, such as The Boston Globe[14], ABC News[15], Forbes[16], and the U.S. News & World Report[17]. He has also been a featured speaker at several national[18][19] and international conferences[20][21] on the topics of integrative medicine, mental health, and nutrition.

Greenblatt has been a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine for mental health[6]. He has been at the forefront of researching and implementing the use of targeted nutrient therapies in the treatment of mental health disorders[22]. He has also been a vocal advocate for the use of integrative medicine in the treatment of eating disorders[23], ADHD[24], and depression & anxiety[25].

Greenblatt's approach to mental health treatment combines conventional psychiatry with evidence-based nutritional interventions[26]. He has developed a personalized approach to mental health care that takes into account the unique genetic, biochemical, and nutritional needs of each patient[27]. In April 2017, Dr. Greenblatt was inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame by the International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine[28]
