Summary[edit]

Jeffery Benzien was a masterful torturer in Apartheid South Africa. He was infamous for his method of torture the, "Wet Bag" method. This method uses a damp bag placed over the victim's head. The victim is then brought to the brink of asphyxiation, usually capitulating after just 30 Minutes. New York Times Article

Victims[edit]

Benzien tortured the following known people: Gary Kruser, Ashley Kriel, Ashley Forbes, and Tony Yengeni. Ashley Kriel in particular was murdered by Benzien's torture. New York Times Article

Justice[edit]

Benzien was given amnesty despite his murder of Ashley. This amnesty was granted by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa. Truth and Reconciliation Commission
