Jerusalem Innovation Park is an innovation hub under construction in Jerusalem.[1] It is being built by Al–Nayzak Organization, a non–profit organization based in Jerusalem. The project was founded by Palestinian engineer and philanthropist, Aref Husseini. It is located in At-Tur neighborhood, which is on the Mount of Olives.

It is the flagship project of Al Nayzak Orgnization, located in East Jerusalem. The innovation park, once completed will boost new form education for Palestinians in Jerusalem. It has drawn a large support from the European Union, whose representatives were present during inauguration of project. Jerusalem Innovation Park is one of the largest Palestinian projects in Jerusalem. The main issue is that, the place where this innovation park situated has been occupied by Israel, but legally is of Palestine.

Project

Jerusalem Innovation Park is the flagship project of Al Nayzak Organization. Al Nayzak Organization is a non–profit organization based in Jerusalem, having objectives to promote new forms of education among Palestinians. It was founded in 2003 by Aref Husseini, a leading entrepreneur in Jerusalem. It is being developed in International Baccalaureate model of school.[2] The project is supported and funded by the European Union and Palestinian Business Society. It conists of an innovation, technology and science hub along with other educational facilities specialized in STEM. JIP will offer educational services through internationally recognized educational facilities as well as an advanced scientific garden, with an interactive exhibition, a playground, an auditorium, a Fablab and an astronomy observatory, for the benefit of students and the interested public.[3] UNOPS, CCC, and ISDB are among the supporters of the project.[4]

Location

Jerusalem Innovation Park is located in AlSawana Street in At–Tur neighborhood of East Jerusalem and is near to the Mount of Olives (Jabal al-Zaytoun).[5] It is near to the headquarters of Al–Nayzak Organization.[5] In terms of transportation, JIP is easily accessible by Rabia al–Adawiya and Kupat Holim bus terminus.[5]
