Jett Lennon Morton, also known by his stage name Jett Lennon, is an American rapper, songwriter, and typewriter collector from Morgantown, West Virginia. Morton released his debut hip hop album Proof of Concept, in 2023. Morton is a collector of manual typewriters.
Early life and education[edit]
Morton was born on May 28, 1995, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 2013.[1] In 2018, he graduated from West Virginia University. During this time, Morton was a client of West Virginia University Law's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Law Clinic.[2] In the fall of 2021, Morton earned an electrical engineering degree from West Virginia University.[3]
Music career[edit]
On October 6, 2023, Morton self-released his debut hip-hop album Proof of Concept.[4] On November 24, 2023, he released a single titled Can’t Wait.[5]
Typewriter collecting[edit]
Morton is a collector and historian of manual typewriters.[6][7][8] In 2009, Morton’s collection consisted of 91 typewriters.[6]
In 2012, Morton appeared in The Typewriter (in the 21st Century), a documentary film directed by Christopher Lockett.[9]
In 2016, Morton made a cameo in California Typewriter, a documentary film directed by Doug Nichol (including Tom Hanks, John Mayer, David McCullough and Sam Shepard).[10]
Morton said his typewriter collection had grown to over 300 machines before he began focusing on Oliver typewriters. By 2021, Morton had sold some of his other machines and possessed 54 Oliver typewriters in his collection.[7]
