Serial was in news prior to its release as Jhoom marks Kadwani's first serial as main lead protagonist.[13] It garnered positive reviews from critics and audience throughout its run for depiction of sensitive topic pertinent to mental health.[14] Zainab from "Galaxy Lollywood" praised the serial for highlighting the issue of age difference between a couple, awareness regarding mental health and not dragging the story.[15]

Youlin Magazine praised the show for it's ensemble cast and wrote, "Jhoom offers viewers an exciting journey through labyrinthine corridors of love, exploring themes of passion, heartbreak, patience and societal pressures. While the drama exhibits notable production quality, directorial execution is mediocre".[16] FUCHSIA praised the serial for its action sequences and delivery of social messages.[17]
