John David Green is an American drummer, multi- instrumentalist, audio engineer, recording engineer, electrical engineer, aeronautical engineer, and aircraft inspector. John was born on 10 February 1971 in St Charles, Illinois to Earl "Bud" Vincent Green JR and JoAnna Green (nee; Hobbs), and is primarily of Irish descent. He is the youngest of three children, his siblings are Timothy Allen and Kathleen Marie. He spent his early years in West Chicago, Illinois. His parents divorced when he was five years old, and he split time with them for the duration of his childhood. After the divorce he went back and forth between Chicago and San Diego, California until his mother moved to Saint Louis, Missouri. At that time he lived with her until seventeen years old. He was known as John until his mother remarried a man named John Harris, who had a son named John. From then on he went by John David or Jack.
