Josh Jury is a Chicago-area high school teen who was studying in Israel when the Israel-Hamas war began. Josh was taking part in the Heller High program, where North American Jewish 10-12th graders embark on a semester of school in Hod Hasharon, Israel. Following his experience in Israel, Josh became a popular subject in U.S. media. He was featured in numerous reports including CBS Chicago, NBC Chicago, Chicago Tribune, and USA Today. The war in Israel prompted an end to the study abroad program and Josh's return to the States. Soon after his return home, Josh graduated a semester early from Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
At 18 years old, Josh is an avid writer and a Blog Contributor for The Times of Israel. Through the TOI platform, Josh is a voice for Israel activism from the Generation Z perspective. In his writing, Josh works toward educating teens on how to combat Antisemitism and Anti-Zionism. Through Josh's blog page he has published, "Gen Z Jews Have the Agency to Become Changemakers Amidst War in Israel," which focuses on how Jewish teens can become ambassadors for Israel by using their voice in the United States. While his most recent piece, "Undeniable truth is under attack," focuses on the alarming amount of holocaust denial amidst a war on the 'Jewish state'.
