In 2020 he was a finalist in the "11th DasArtes" magazine award.
Research[edit]
Search In addition to his references in art history, Júlio also pays close attention to urban imagery construction and observes the landscapes that the city suggests or the nature that is hidden there. This undoubtedly reflects on his production, since the series of paintings developed by him are based on elements from these universes and are transformed into a very cohesive plastic proposition, relating affective memories with popular culture, daily life photos , graphic signs with opposing and complementary colors, poetry with image. In all of his works, the artist seems to want to reveal possible narratives based on recombinations of elements he transformed.
