Draft:Keith Hinds

Keith Hinds is a resident of West Bath, Maine with his wife, Diana Doyle, and three children: Adelaide Hinds, Jasper Hinds, and Lillian Hinds. Keith was born in Bath, Maine in 1977 to his parents, Beverly and Dale Hinds, alongside his two older brothers, Brian Hinds of Louisville, KY and Duane Hinds of Bath, ME.

Keith attended Morse High School in Bath as class president for four consecutive years of the class of 1996. He was on the cross country and track teams at Morse, serving as the captain of the cross country team in 1995 and the captain of the track team in 1995 and 1996. He was in the band and jazz band playing trumpet, and was the winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen of the Year award.

Political Experience

After graduating from Morse High School, Keith went on to study at the University of Maine: Orono and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and public management. He then furthered his education, graduating with a master's degree in public administration in 2002. At the University of Maine: Orono, Keith was the president of the college democrats.

In 2000, Keith was the campaign manager for Jonathan Thomas' House of Representatives campaign for the State of Maine, winning the election. Keith then ran for the Bath, Maine City Council at-large seat and was elected in November of 2004. Keith served on the board until December of 2007.

In 2008, Keith was the campaign treasurer for Joel Merry's campaign for Sagadahoc County, Maine's sheriff election. In 2010, he was the campaign manager for Mike Clarke's Maine House of Representative District 62. Clarke then went on to serve a term of two years in the house.

In April of 2015, Keith was elected to the West Bath School Administrative Unit's school board of directors. Keith served three three-year terms as of November 2024, with seven of those years as board chair. During Keith's term, West Bath School was twice awarded an EL (Expeditionary Learning) accreditation, the only elementary school in the state of Maine to do so.

As of November of 2024, Keith is running to represent the town of West Bath, Maine, on the board of selectmen.

Career

Keith started working at Elmhurst, a Bath, Maine nonprofit supporting individuals with cognitive disabilities, in May of 2003.

Keith worked there until November of 2007. Keith started at Modern Pest Services in Brunswick, Maine as the manager of Human Resources in 2008 and was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources in July of 2018, when Modern Pest was acquired by the Swedish company Anticimex. In January of 2019, Keith was promoted to the Vice President of Operations position.

Keith began working on the Patten Free Library Policy Committee as a corporator. He began serving on the personnel and policy committee in 2019. He remains on that committee as of 2024.
