  • Comment: Fails WP:MUSICBIO - Bandcamp is not an acceptable or reliable independent sources. The Passion of the Weiss is effectively a blog site. Dan arndt (talk) 07:49, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, WP:ANYBIO, WP:MUSICBIO) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
Please note that many of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable for establishing notability and should be removed (including Loon's own website).
Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a CV, which Wikipedia is not.
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject.
It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:MUSICBIO criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Once you have implemented these suggestions, you may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 05:00, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Early Life

[edit]

Kent Loon was born in Bogota, Colombia on July 25, 1996[3] to a Chinese father and Colombian mother[4]. Loon's father, a successful business owner in Colombia, caught the attention of local guerilla fighters who began to threaten Loon's father. At the age of four, Loon and his mother fled Colombia for the United States of America due to threats of extortion and kidnapping. After moving around different parts of Florida, Loon and his family settled in St. Petersburg just as he was starting middle school[4].

Career

[edit]

Loon started rapping and making music in middle school while living in St. Petersburg.[5]. As a sophomore at Pinellas Pine High School, Loon met fellow Nü Age Syndicate co-founder, Chester Watson, and the two quickly bonded over their love for rap. Loon would also meet producer Kanisono (Shane Phadraig) and Nick Preradovic to form the nucleus of Nü Age[3]. Loon has released songs featuring Gold and Platinum Award winning artists, including Valee[6].

After high school, Loon followed Watson to P.O.W. Recordings. The pair recorded and released a joint EP titled Spring Mirage in 2016 [5]. Loon later released his debut project, Stay Low, in 2017. Stay Low featured Loon's high school friend Watson as a producer on 12 of the tracks and a performing artist on four[3].

Loon released multiple singles following Stay Low, including "Rome" (featuring Chester Watson) in 2018 which garnered over 2.4 million plays on Spotify. Loon's single "Rax" (2020)[7] earned nearly 1.3 million Spotify streams and headlines Loon's sophomore project, Endless Nights (2020)[8]

Loon released his third project, Bittersweet, on October 28, 2021[9] featuring multiple collaborators, including 03 Greedo, Valee, Chester Watson, Yung Simmie, and Trapland Pat[10].

Loon's most recent project, Swamp Water, was released on July 25, 2024[11] and was dubbed as one of the best hip-hop albums of July 2024 on Bandcamp[12]. The single, “Free YSL” from the album earned recognition as a song you need to hear in your life by TheFader[13]. The album pays homage to Loon's upbringing in St. Petersburg and takes listeners on a "dazzlingly bright tour through the danger zones of South Florida," according to Loon's label, P.O.W. Recordings.
