Krystian Alexandra Leonard (born September 12, 1996) is an American writer, actor, former beauty pageant titleholder, and founder of the online non-profit Shining S.C.A.R.S. Inc.  She gave a Tedx talk at the age of 17, titled ‘Find your inner star’[1]

She is known for her scar activism, [2]and lead actress role in the JC Films award winning Christian film Break Every Chain.

Early life

Krystian was born in Clovis, New Mexico on September 12, 1996, into a military family and later moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia . Krystian experienced bullying at a young age. After graduating from Robert C. Byrd High School, she went on to study Broadcast Journalism and graduated from West Virginia University.

Miss West Virginia USA

Krystian won the Miss West Virginia USA 2022 pageant in June 2022. She placed in the top 16 Miss USA 2022 pageant.[6]

Career

In 2014, Krystian traveled to New York Book Expo America for the release of her children’s book, Shining Scars. There she met David Mezzapple,[7] author of Contagious Optimism, who introduced her to the TEDx stage. Krystian voiced her experience with bullying at Boca Raton TEDx[8], Contagious Optimism Live Stage and at NEXTGen Summit in Austin Texas, where she received the Humanitarian Award. [9]

Krystian was a Channel Kindness Reporter for Lady Gaga's nonprofit foundation, Channel Kindness, A Project of Born This Way.[10]

In 2019, Krystian was cast in several films for the JC Films[11] production company, in West Virginia. In 2020 she was cast for the film, Break Every Chain (film) as the lead actress alongside Dean Cain and Ignacyo Matynia [12]Break Every Chain was one of the first films that was able to proceed with production, with COVID-19 safety measures in place. In the film Break Every Chain (film), Krystian plays the wife (Stacy Hickory) of police officer Jonathan Hickory, who wrote the autobiographical novel[13] the film is based on, held its world premiere on February 20, 2021, in Tempe, Arizona.
