Kuhle Maseko (born March 16, 2004) is a South African politician and businessman. He is known for his involvement in ActionSA, where he has held various leadership positions, particularly within the party's youth structures. Maseko has also been active in business and sports, notably as a semi-professional golfer.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Maseko was born on March 16, 2004, in Boksburg, South Africa. He grew up in a Catholic family and attended several Catholic schools, including St. Peter's School and the Christian Brothers' College, Mount Edmund. He later matriculated from a Turkish school.[1] Maseko became politically conscious at a young age, developing an interest in politics by the age of 9.
Political Career
[edit]Maseko began his political career with ActionSA, serving as the Constituency Chairperson for the Tshwane region. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the party’s activities and expanding its membership base.[2]
Maseko was also involved in student politics, representing ActionSA on the Finance Subcommittee of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at various universities. His work in local and provincial government included serving in the KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga provinces, where he was elected to the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and appointed as the Head of Campaigns.[3]
In August 2024, Maseko resigned from his positions within ActionSA, citing internal conflicts and concerns about the ethical conduct of the party's Youth Forum leadership.[4] His resignation was followed by the departure of 22 PEC members from the North West, who shared similar grievances.[5]
Personal Life
[edit]Maseko has lived in three provinces: KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga, giving him a broad perspective on South Africa's diverse cultures. He is active on social media, with a following of 17,000 on Instagram under the handle @Kuhlethebossman.[6]
Maseko was previously in a relationship with Nandisile Ndlovu, but they have since separated. He has a net worth of R3.8 million and has appeared on various television shows.[7] He also hosted his own talk show, "24newswithkuhle," where he interviewed celebrities and politicians. Maseko is currently single.[8]
