Lars Ek (born in 1947) is a Swedish accordionist. He founded the Frosini Society in 1984 with Gunnar Ohlander, a Norwegian accordionist and collector.[1], who was living in Des Moines, Iowa[2]

In 2009, Lars Ek was elected Accordionist of the Year by the Swedish Accordionist Association (SDR).[3]

Lars Ek has performed with numerous musicians including Sonja Stjernkvist, Erik Öst and Bertil Boo.[4]

His repertoire has included works by the accordionist pietro Frosini, including his compositions "Silver Moon Waltz" and "Bel Fior".[5]. He has also performed on an original accordion owned and used by Pietro Frosini.[6]

Lars Ek has also recorded a number of albums of accordion music, including the music of Pietro Frosini which he performed on his album "Lars Ek Spelar Frosini" (1980).[7]
