Laura Britt is an American broadcaster, host, and anchor employed by NBC Sports Bay Area in San Francisco, CA.[1] Britt hosts the Giants Pre and Post Game Live shows.[2] Britt has also hosted Pre and Post Game shows for the San Francisco 49ers,[3] Oakland Athletics, Sacramento Kings,[4] Golden State Warriors[5] and San Jose Sharks.[6] Previously, Britt helped launch 120 Sports (currently Stadium)[7] in Chicago, IL, as one of the original talent hires.[8] Prior to 120 Sports, Britt co-anchored a morning show, covered local sports, and filled anchoring the nightly news at Fox 40 WDBD in Jackson, Mississippi.[8][9]

Background[edit]

Britt is a native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama,[9] a nearby suburb of Birmingham.[8] She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham receiving her B.A. in Communication Studies with a concentration in Mass Communication-Broadcasting and earned a double minor in Communication Management and Spanish.[8]

Broadcasting Career[edit]

While enrolled at UAB, Britt interned at Fox News in New York City and at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham.[8] After college, Britt was hired by Fox 40 WDBD in Jackson, Mississippi, as her first full-time broadcast position.[8]

While at Fox 40 WDBD in Jackson, Britt co-anchored the station's live 2-hour morning show.[9]

In 2014, Britt moved to Chicago, IL, to work for 120 Sports and help launch a new digital sports network focused on covering college and professional sports in 2-minute segments.[8] While at 120 Sports, Britt hosted a 3-hour live programming show called The Rally,[10] and she also co-hosted a morning show with Laurence Holmes and Michael Kim.[11]

While in Chicago in early 2017, Britt co-hosted the sports portion of the nightly news for Fox32 WFLD Chicago.

In April 2018, Britt left Stadium to join NBC Sports Bay Area.[1] David Koppett, former VP of Content Strategy for NBC Sports Bay Area, had this to say about her hiring, "She has established herself as one of the most versatile sportscasters in the business today, and her extensive experience and commentary will further enhance the network's expansion into the digital space."[1]

In addition to her television hosting role, Britt regularly joins radio programming to discuss Bay Area sports teams on 95.7 The Game and 104.5 KNBR.[12][13] Britt co-hosted the 49ers Talk Podcast with Matt Maiocco.,[14] and she has hosted multiple 49ers shows, such as 49ers Game Plan, 49ers Press Conference Live, and 49ers Central.

Britt will be making her NBC Olympics broadcast debut on CNBC and E! networks to cover sports coverage for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.[15]
