Laura Porter is a social media influencer who owns a pet crab, known as Howie the Crab. Laura primarily shared videos on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram providing updates about Howie. The updates include their adventures outside her tank, Howie’s fashion choices in her multitude of hats, and her passion for pinching soft things. She also enjoys eating snacks such as caviar and gushers candy.[1]
Age
Howie is approximately 8 years old. She was born approximately June 24th, 2015. The average life span of her species is 8 years, but there is no official documentation to determine the exact life span yet.
Early life and history
Howie was adopted from an aquatic pet store. Her gender was not known, and she was initially thought to be a male. After she was named, her family discovered that she is a female. Laura chose to not change her name after it stuck!
Aquatic life and food
Howie prefers fresh, de-chlorinated and treated water. Her primary diet is fruits and vegetables. She requires protein once per week. She regularly enjoys treats such as caviar, cheese and gushers candy. She indicates her excitement for her favorite foods by squeaking, and moving her mouth parts, which Laura lovingly refers to as “Happy Mouth!”
