Leila Sadeghi
Leila Sadeghi (born April 28, 1356, in Tehran) is a versatile Iranian linguist, storyteller, poet, translator, critic, and literary researcher.
Life: Leila Sadeghi commenced her education in literature and humanities, later specializing in Persian literature at Allameh Tabatabai University in 1374. After the publication of her first book, "Fourth Person Singular Pronoun" in 1379, she ventured into the realm of fiction. Her unconventional approach to fiction, evident in works like "Give Me Time to Spend" (2013) and "If She is Leila, Then Who Am I?!" (1381), marked her as a non-normative writer.
In 1381, Sadeghi delved into English translation at Azad University, pursuing master's studies in general linguistics at Allameh Tabatabai University in 1385. Her thesis, "The Discourse Function of Silence in a Short Story," defended in October 2008, led to a published book in 2013. She completed her linguistics doctoral course at Tehran University in October 2014.
Leila Sadeghi, in her 2019 TEDax Tehran Women talk, emphasized the importance of literature in empowering individuals, citing global examples and highlighting the inherent storytelling nature of humanity.
