Sam Barry (born March 6,1989 in Dallas) known professionally as Lil Texas, is an American musician, producer, and DJ.

Career[edit]

Barry's first EP, Talkin 2 U, was released in 2013.[5] He is best known for the songs "Kamikaze (Vip)", "Rules of the Game", "Dreaming", and "Sucker Punch".[citation needed] He was also featured on "Sine From Above" by Lady Gaga and Elton John.

As of August 2023, Barry has roughly 315.9K monthly listeners on Spotify.[6]

Style[edit]

Lil Texas is known for creating his own genre of music called "Texcore". Texcore has grown in popularity and has led to Lil Texas being a headliner at concerts and festivals such as Defqon.1, EDC, and Basscon[7]. This new genre of music is similar to hardstyle and uptempo, however, it encompasses much higher BPMs, more "kicks", and rapid buildups.[8] [9] Texcore has also influenced other artists such as Vieze Asbak, Unicorn on Ketamine, Greazy Puzzy Fuckerz, and Kayzo.
