Liphôn or Aliphonyah is a Gospel singer, songwriter who fought against ethnic discrimination in Vietnam in the early 2000s. He is a Vesaii artist and a pioneer of the Gospel music genre in Vietnam.

Biography

Liphôn's real name is Y Liphôn Niê - Aliô was born in Cu M'gar, Dak and is of the Ede ethnic group. He is the first child in the Niê - Aliô family with father Y Kương Aliô (1978), mother H Wi Niê (1979) and two younger siblings, H LiNa Niê - Aliô (2004) and Y Rawun Niê - Aliô. (2017). Born into a farming family and no one in the arts, from a young age he encountered many difficulties from family to outside society. Going to school was isolated and always went alone and only had one close friend. However, he was a lively person, a music enthusiast from an early age, but his family forbade it, in the early 2000s. The village is still very backward, so the understanding and future orientation of the spirit of the people in the village are quite uncertain, eliminating prejudices on the path to becoming a true musical artist.

Career

Starting his career very early in mid-2007, Liphôn possesses a high and strong voice with the identity of the Central Highlands, inherited from the voice of his grandmother H Duinh Aliô (1964 - 2020) who began singing in the countryside. churches and events such as weddings, engagements, etc. Guided by his grandmother, he always tries to sing to satisfy his passion when he has the opportunity and does not let any opportunity slip away. In 2009, he had to focus on studying, so he temporarily put it aside for a while. While in school, he always achieved excellent results in elementary school, but when he reached middle and high school, his studies decreased significantly. It's partly because he was isolated and far away, but that didn't stop him from giving up his job. In 2018, he also completed middle school and entered high school. By the time his parents bought him a phone to use for studying, but because he was so passionate about music, he learned about the music industry now. What's going on now, the new era and the new way to bring music is the Youtube application, many artists use it to spread their music there and Liphôn is no exception. He relied on his phone to create his first music, and the first song he uploaded on Youtube was the song "Po Myang Edi Mni" but it was not well received and very few people interacted. Views do not reach 100 views. That's not why he gave up.

In 2019, a man named John Great saw that Liphôn’s voice was unique and unique, leading and training him to become a true musical artist. He joined the band founded by Mr. John Great himself, "Ede BANDS". In those years, he accompanied the band for 1 year and at the end of 2020, he left the group to form a new group, Niê - Aliô. and the group members are also his neighbors. But the group only operated for 5 months and then disbanded. In 2022, he focused on college to major in Pharmacy. With his passion for music, he did not give up.

Liphôn will completely sing solo from 2021 to 2023 and his songs include 15 EPs and 5 albums. From there, a series of songs he composed and covered by other artists were born. Although they did not meet high expectations, With burning passion, he still has his little fans listening to his music. Currently in 2024, in April on the 5th, he released the song "Never Forget" EP version that won the "The best of Gospel" category of the 5th Niva Music Arwads awards, which is a small reward from the label.
