The Nepal Premier League (NPL) is a men's Twenty20 (T20) cricket competition, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the national governing body of Cricket in Nepal. T20 cricket is a shorter format of the game, with each team playing a single innings of 20 overs. The inaugural season of the IPL was held in 2024, and the tournament has been held annually in Nepal ever since. Currently, eight teams compete for the championship.[1] Since the league's inception, one team Janakpur Bolts have won the title.
American batsman Lahiru Milantha holds the records for the most runs scored (293) in the league. Nepalese batsman Anil Sah is the most successful captains in the league, winning one title. Nepalese bowler Lalit Rajbanshi and Kiwi Scott Kuggeleijn holds the record for the most wickets taken (17).[2][3][4] Aussie all-rounder Will Bosisto holds the record for the best bowling figures with 6/28.
The Janakpur Bolts (JB) hold the record for playing and winning the most matches, while the Sudurpaschim Royals (SR) have the highest win percentage (77.77%). Biratnagar Kings (BK) scored the most runs in a match with a score of 193/8 against the Lumbini Lions (LL) in 2024. The highest successful run chase in the league's history was achieved by the Biratnagar Kings, as they chased down a target of 191 set by the Lumbini Lions in 2024. The Janakpur Bolts scored the lowest total, making just 51 runs against the Sudurpaschim Royals in 2024.
