This list of natural disasters in NYC includes all significant and/or notable natural disasters that have occurred in NYC after 2000.

September 29 - October 7, 2015 Nor'easter 25 $2 billion October 2015 North American storm complex The storm caused flooding in the city. On October 2, a fishing boat with 5 crew capsized amid 10 to 15 feet swells causing 2 people to be killed.
February 7 - 18, 2013 Winter storm and nor'easter 18 $100 million February 2013 North American blizzard Up to 16 inches of snow were reported throughout portions of the city.
October 29, 2012 Tropical cyclone and flooding 233 $68.7 billion Hurricane Sandy The hurricane was one of the worst hurricanes to ever hit the city. A significant and very large power outage occurred due to the storm. Over 2 million customers were left without power. All schools in New York City were closed for nearly the whole entire week of the storm. The storm was so bad that the New York Stock Exchange was closed for two days. Battery Park had a water surge of nearly 14 feet. Sea water flooded the whole entire city causing widespread destruction.

February 25 - 27, 2010 Blizzard 1 N/A February 25 - 27, 2010 North American blizzard The storm brought nearly 21 inches of snow in Central Park. This was the 5th largest snowstorm to impact NYC.
December 16 - 20, 2009 Blizzard 7 N/A December 2009 North American blizzard This storm brought about 2 feet of snow to the city. Over 800 flights in all of 3 NYC's major airports were canceled.
April 13 - 17, 2007 Nor'easter and tornado outbreak 18 $264 million April 2007 nor'easter The late season nor'easter caused historic records for the city. 7.57 inches of rain fell, being the second heaviest rainfall in 24 hours. The storm produced the worst flooding since Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
