Lobster Weight (pronounced as 'lawb-ster wayt') is a company based in the Republic of Moldova, specializing in manufacturing equipment for freediving.
It is designed to be placed around the neck, while the lobster tail end reaches down the back. This ensures an optimal, streamlined position of the body in the water, which makes it possible to dive longer distances. The weight of the ergonomically shaped Lobster Neck Weight can be individually adjusted to the diver’s lung capacity thanks to the modular back element.
The product was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2020 in the "Innovative Product" category, where the jury stated that "The combination of the anatomical design and the adjustable weight system is fascinating, and wearing the Lobster Neck Weight leads to an improved diving experience."[1]
