Lucas Vinh Tran is a Singaporean computer scientist with research interests include (geometric) deep learning, differentiable generative models and high-dimensional statistics. In general, he is broadly interested in representation learning (Euclidean and non-Euclidean representation); especially in the applications of personalization and recommender systems (personalized and group recommendation).

He is a Director of AI/ML at JPMorganChase; was previously a research scientist at Apple Inc., affiliated with Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and also an adjunct faculty of computer science at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Education and Career

[edit]

Lucas earned his Ph.D. in Computer Sciences in 2020 at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). His dissertation, Representation Learning for Recommender Systems,[1] was supervised by Gao Cong,[2] and Xiaoli Li;[3] in which, he was also honored with the Best Paper Award Runner-Up [4][5] in the top Web Analytics conference, for his contribution to the field.
