Dr. M.K Sharma (Sumahendra) is... Born 10th July, 1943 at village Nayan ‐ Amarsar Dist. Jaipur (Rajasthan) INDIA

Education: Diploma in Painting and Sculptor, 1964 & 1967 respectively from Rajasthan School of Arts. Fresco Camp, Banasthali, 1968. M.A. Drawing & Painting, University of Rajasthan‐Gold Medal, 1970. Ph.D. on Ragamala Paintings of Rajasthan from University of Rajasthan, 1984. Research project‐ Painted Cenotaphs of Rajasthan (Dhundar area) for Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1991. Specialization: – Expert in technique of miniature paintings and restoration of old miniatures. Works in Marble, Terracotta, Cast Stone and Metal for sculptures.

Commissioned Works: Copied frescos of Mozamabad, Deogarh, Kota, Bundi, Udaipur, Amber, Bhaopura (Rajasthan) Datia and Orchha (M.P.) for Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. Painted panel No. 45, Emperor Akbar with his Navratnas for Parliament House, New Delhi.

Others: · Five portraits of Jaipur rulers ‐Sawai Jai Singh and Sawai Pratap Singh displayed in the lobby of Rajputana Sheraton, Jaipur and others like Madho Singh, Jagat Singh and Ishwari Singh exhibited in its restaurant corridor. Six large size Ragamala paintings of 4’ x 6’ displayed in other parts of the hotel. · Prepared four frescos of 4’ x 6’ in tea‐lounge of Grand Kakatiya ITC Sheraton hotel at Hyderabad and life size portraits of Kakatiya dynasty. · A large size fresco at a private farm‐house in Bijwasan, New Delhi, size 8’ x 27’. · Three frescos at Grand Maratha, an ITC Sheraton Hotel at Mumbai and many art works in oils depicting portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Maratha nobles. · Two frescos illustrating mugal rulers size 6’ x 10’ at Mughal Sheraton, Agra. 2 · An oil painting of 5’ x 11’ size depicting a night party scene of Company period displayed at Morya Sheraton, New Delhi at coffee shop.
