Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST) (मदन भण्डारी विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि विश्वविद्यालय) is a public higher educational institution located in Chitlang, Nepal. It is the first university in Nepal established exclusively for the science and technology and has four departments, namely Organic Agriculture, Forest Biomaterials, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The MBUST is the first research-oriented university in Nepal established upon promulgation of the MBUST Act, 2079 (2022 AD), which provides extensive autonomy to the University. The mission of the University is to build a prosperous and just Nepal. To attain this mission the University has chosen the vision to be a world-class university.[1][2] [3] The bill was approved by National Assembly of Nepal in 2002. [4] [5] [6] [7]
The university is named in the honor of the Nepali leader Madan Bhandari.
