Maharaja (transl. Great king) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Nithilan Saminathan of Kurangu Bommai fame and produced by Passion Studios, The Route, Think Studios and SNS Movie Production LLP.[1]The films stars Vijay Sethupathi, Mamta Mohandas and Anurag Kashyap in lead roles.This marks the 50th film for Vijay Sethupathi.The soundtrack and background score were composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, while the cinematography and editing was handled by Dinesh Purushothaman and Philomin Raj.[2][3]
This is second collaboration Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap after 2018 film Imaikkaa Nodigal. The film predominantly shot in Chennai.
Maharaja was scheduled to release in theatres on May 2024.[4]
